Substance abuse among adolescents is a major public health challenge in both developed and developing countries. Adolescence is a critical period characterized by experimentation, vulnerability, and identity formation. Exposure to addictive substances during this phase may lead to long-term dependence and behavioral problems.
Increasing accessibility to tobacco, alcohol, and illicit substances, combined with peer influence and media exposure, is contributing to rising addiction rates. Early identification and intervention are key to preventing chronic addiction and psychiatric disorders.
This study aims to evaluate the prevalence and patterns of substance abuse among adolescents and analyze its associated risk factors.
